2026 Labor Day Closures for Seattle Parks and Recreation

Many Seattle Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

These facilities and services are CLOSED:

  • All recreation programs
  • Community centers and teen life centers
  • Indoor swimming pools
  • Green Lake Small Craft Center
  • Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center
  • Amy Yee Tennis Center
  • Seattle Japanese Garden and Volunteer Park Conservatory (closed regularly on Mondays)

These facilities are OPEN on regular or modified schedules:

  • Parks
  • Colman and Mounger outdoor pools
  • Sprayparks
  • Wading Pools: Green Lake Park, Lincoln Park, Van Asselt Community Center, and Volunteer Park wading pools are scheduled to be open from 12-7 PM, weather permitting. Please call the Wading Pool hotline to confirm, 206-684-7796.
  • Lifeguarded beaches: The Labor Day beach schedule is 11 AM-7 PM at Madison Beach, West Green Lake Beach, Matthews Beach, and Seward Park Beach. Check the Public Health Swim Beach Monitoring page for updates on beaches closed due to high bacteria levels.
  • Boat ramps
  • Golf courses and ranges
